Canon 5D Mark II for C$1999 at Henry’s
Wow, Henry’s is having a sale on the Canon EOS 5D Mark II as the camera body is now selling for only C$1999. That’s a $750 savings and $500 better than the price at B&H. It’s still $450 more than a Canon 7D but that’s a lot of camera for under $2K.
UPDATE: Perhaps it’s a Canon Canada deal and not retailer specific as Vistek is running the same sale.
I hope this means the rumoured announcement of the next full-frame Canon camera is really coming in October.
I’m definitely itching to upgrade to a full frame camera. Full-frame cameras have sensors the size of traditional 35mm film. They generally produce crisper images, have nicer bokeh and produce less noise at high ISOs. They’re ideal for portraits and landscape (less ideal for sports and action). I’ve been holding off buying any EF-S lenses to make sure my lenses can be carried forward to my next camera (EF-S lenses by Canon are built for the small APS-C sensor cameras like the T1i, T2i, T3i, 60D and my 7D).
